Symoblism
Symbolism is used all throughout the story. The mocking jay pin that Madge gave Katniss was a token thata tribte was allowed to bring into the arena but it turned into a symbol of defiance used against the Capitol, especially in the other two books in the series. When Katniss shows her act of defiance with Peeta at the arena That mocking jay began to symbolise going against the capitol since mocking jays are a failed genetic experiment run by the Capitol.
Irony
Katniss was known as The Girl On Fire due to her dress at the opening ceremony but she became badly injured after she was hit by a fireball, breaking the illusion that she wasn't weak against fire. There is also irony when Katniss volunteers to take Prim's spot to be a tribute because Prim ends up dying anyways.
Allusion
Many allusions are made in the book such as the Capitol's obsession over vanity and entertainment like gambling is very similar to modern day Las Vegas and the Career Pack could be a reference to the "cool kids."
